DECOREX SA : Exhibition  
Nicola Hadfield founded South Africa's most prestigious interior design and décor exhibition entitled "Decorex SA" in 1994, growing it over eight years to become Africa's most highly respected annual showcase. She expanded it to encompass regional shows both in Kwa Zulu Natal and the Cape Province before selling out to the Dutch exhibition company, Rai BV Amsterdam. Decorex SA has become a vital link between industry and the market place and is responsible for launching many of Africa's most unique and innovative design products and talent. Decorex SA is now owned by Thebe Exhibitions.  

Described by the media as "SA's Design Diva", "Lifestyle Guru" and "Décor's fairy godmother" and a woman with "guts gumption and style",  Nicola has been awarded many business and creative awards, the most notable being "The Leading Woman Entrepreneur of the Word * The Star Group USA. During this time, Nicola decided to celebrate women and produced a second exhibition entitled,
"WOMAN ALIVE"  an exhibition about women for women, - empowering everything relating to women – from health, to family, financial and business.

Since she sold her exhibition company in 2001 she relocated to Cape Town from where she established
Nicola Hadfield Enterprises CC. She opened a design consultancy, presented the television programme Design Inspiration, launched her own brand of signature jewellery and wrote two visually inspiring coffee table books entitled "Nicola Hadfields's,- Beautiful Homes of South Africa" and "Nicola Hadfields's,- Beautiful Outdoors of South Africa". Design quarter retail shopping precinct

Nicola was appointed as strategic marketing and creative core consultant for Design Quarter - this R200 million 'beyond retail' shopping precinct in Fourways, northern Johannesburg. She assisted in the logo design and title of this contemporary 'beyond retail'
shopping precinct.

New court @ alphen - gated estate,constantia
- Preferred Interior Designer / Consultant

Nicola was appointed as design consultant, and "prefered" interior designer for the prestigious gated estate in Constantia Cape Town, New Court @ Alphen - a development attached to the historic Alphen Hotel.

- Strategic marketing and brand consultant

Amidst rising concerns and criticisms that the professional body representing the interior design industry  known as The South African Guild of Interior Designers (SAGID) was too 'soft' Hadfield was appointed to revitalize the industry body and to facilitate positive changes. She successfully initiated this by not only bringing together various design disciplines under one umbrella but proposed a new name change.

Nicola's brief was to expand and  improve  Gallo/Getty's Image in the sub-saharan market place and to create further brand awareness  amongst  interior designers, architects and specifiers.    


The most respected estate agency in the south of France appointed Nicola to promote high-end real estate.  Nicola set up small blue chip exhibitions in Cape Town and Johannesburg and sponsors sourced were BOE (Board of Executors) and Pam Golding.
